
Born and raised in East Berkshire, Vermont, Bob served with the Vermont Army National Guard from 28 February 1969 until 31 August 2004, retiring as a Command Sergeant Major. Starting in Enosburg Falls, Bob’s assignments moved him to St Albans, Montpelier, Berlin and finally to Colchester Vermont where he served as the Command Sergeant Major for the Vermont Army National Guard. His career took him to many countries and duty stations ending with a tour of combat duty in Afghanistan in 2003-2004. His many accolades include the Bronze Star and Legion of Merit, the highest peacetime award for a soldier.
Bob is now retired and focusing his efforts on family and toward the advancement of WVAGVT.org helping veterans throughout the State. Prior to his military experience, Bob was a self employed trucker and played drums in a local band for 20 years. His experience ranges from mechanic to teacher to mentor for hundreds of soldiers over the course of his storied career. He now focuses on making maple syrup , riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, golfing and helping friends and family alike.
